Local knowledge

Getting our bearings in Foxborough

Knowing a city properly is the difference between covering it and showing up with the right box.

  • Gillette Stadium — home of the New England Patriots and the New England Revolution, the Town says.
  • Route One and Route 140 — where the Town says many of its eating and entertainment spots sit.
  • Boyden Library — off the Common on Bird Street; Town Hall is at 40 South Street.
  • Compost site — East Belcher Road, Foxborough residents only, and no trash or construction debris of any kind.
  • Hazardous waste days — twice a year, spring and fall. The Town has no mattress or textile drop-off program.

What comes out of Foxborough properties

Garage clean-outs and flooring in 15s, roofs in 10s and 20s, remodels in 20s, estate clean-outs in 30s, commercial construction and major demolition in 40s, and a 10 or 15 for concrete, brick and dirt — heavy loads are limited to the smaller boxes. With no Town program and no Town mattress drop-off, clean-out loads land in the roll-off. MassDEP bans asphalt pavement, brick and concrete, metal, wood (from landfills), clean drywall, mattresses and textiles (since 1 November 2022), whole tires, large appliances, TV and monitor picture tubes and lead-acid batteries from disposal (310 CMR 19.017), so mixed construction loads go to a C&D handling facility that sorts them. MassDEP says even one mattress can fail a load — tell us before you load a mattress or an appliance.

Permits, placement and who may haul in Foxborough

Who may haul — the rule that matters: the Board of Health's dumpster and hauling regulations define a hauler as anyone who transports, delivers, removes or stores dumpsters in town, and say no hauler may install, maintain or empty a dumpster until the Health Department grants a Hauler Permit (§4A). The fee schedule lists $100 for each trash truck and roll-off truck, January 1 to December 31. The Town contracts with no hauler, so there is no franchise. We're licensed and insured.

Placement: each dumpster must carry the company's name and phone number (§5A); a construction dumpster may not sit within 10 feet of a habitable structure or block the view of drivers entering or leaving a road (§5J); and construction and demolition dumpsters are exempt from the lid and solid-surface rules (§6A). The property owner and the hauler are both responsible, with fines of $50 to $200 (§7).

Hours: if early pickups cause a nuisance, the Health Department may require dumpsters to be emptied, delivered or picked up only between 7 a.m. and 9 p.m. (§4B). We book drop-offs and pickups near homes in daytime.

In the street: General Bylaw §180-14 bars placing any obstruction, building materials or rubbish in a public place except where and how the Select Board prescribes. We found no Town form or fee for a dumpster in the street, so a driveway is the simple spot.

Knocking something down: Massachusetts requires an asbestos survey by an asbestos inspector before demolition or renovation work (310 CMR 7.15(4)), and asbestos removal needs a MassDEP notice filed ten working days before work starts by the licensed abatement contractor. MassDEP's construction/demolition notice (AQ 06) does not apply to residential buildings with fewer than 20 units. Asbestos never goes in our containers — tell us if the survey finds any.

How it works

Booking a dumpster in Foxborough

Booking a container here takes one phone call and about five minutes.

  1. Step 1: Call and tell us the job

One short conversation. We ask the location, what you are clearing — a cleanout, a renovation, a roof, a yard, a job site — roughly how much there is, and how much room the driveway or lot gives us.

  2. Step 2: We size it and quote it flat

You get a flat-rate quote whenever possible that covers delivery, pickup, disposal, the standard rental period and an included weight allowance. If a smaller box does the job we will say so. If it is concrete, shingles or dirt, we say up front that weight decides the size.

  3. Step 3: Delivered where you want it

The driver sets the container on the driveway, lot or job site where you asked, on a flat, stable surface rather than the lawn. Often same-day or next-day, when availability allows. You do not need to be home.

  4. Step 4: Load it on your schedule

Keep it level with the top edge or below and keep the banned items out — paint and solvents, oils and fuel, chemicals, batteries, tires, propane tanks and gas cylinders, medical waste, asbestos, mattresses and textiles, and fridges or other large appliances. Need more time or a swap mid-job? One call.

  5. Step 5: We haul it and dispose of it right

The load is covered and goes to an approved facility, with metal, concrete, asphalt, clean wood and yard waste recycled through Massachusetts facilities whenever possible. You get your driveway back the way you left it.
