Roll-off dumpster rental in Mansfield

Approx. 9 road miles from the yard, around 16 minutes.

Mansfield is approx. 9 road miles north of the yard, around 16 minutes — same-day or next-day when availability allows; call early in the day for the best chance of same-day. It is a town of 23,860 at the 2020 Census, in Bristol County.

The Town's history says Mansfield became a separate district in 1770, named in honor of William Murray, Earl of Mansfield, and was incorporated as a town five years later; when it became a district, Norton had to give it part of the school money already assessed. Mansfield contracts weekly curbside trash and recycling for homes of four units or fewer, but no construction materials from renovation projects are collected. Remodels, roofs and clean-outs go out in roll-offs.

Local knowledge

Getting our bearings in Mansfield

Knowing a city properly is the difference between covering it and showing up with the right box.

  • Earl of Mansfield — the Town's history says the 1770 district was named in honor of William Murray, Earl of Mansfield.
  • Mansfield Green Recycling Park — 499 East Street, at Route 106 and East Street, with a $20 annual sticker; construction and demolition debris, lumber and furniture are prohibited.
  • Town curbside — 64-gallon trash and recycling carts for homes of four units or fewer, and no construction materials from renovation projects.
  • Household hazardous waste — the Town runs its HHW day by sign-up, with a $10 fee. Town Hall is at 6 Park Row.

What comes out of Mansfield properties

Roofs in 10s and 20s, garage clean-outs and flooring in 15s, remodels and landscaping jobs in 20s, estate clean-outs in 30s, construction and demolition in 30s and 40s, and a 10 or 15 for concrete, brick and dirt — heavy loads are limited to the smaller boxes. Construction debris, lumber and furniture are exactly what the Recycling Park turns away. MassDEP bans asphalt pavement, brick and concrete, metal, wood (from landfills), clean drywall, mattresses and textiles (since 1 November 2022), whole tires, large appliances, TV and monitor picture tubes and lead-acid batteries from disposal (310 CMR 19.017), so mixed construction loads go to a C&D handling facility that sorts them. MassDEP says even one mattress can fail a load — tell us before you load a mattress or an appliance.

Permits, placement and who may haul in Mansfield

Who may haul — the rule that matters: the Board of Health's Commercial Trash Container Regulations (1990) say no one may supply a commercial trash container service in town without a Hauler's Permit from the Board, renewed each calendar year with a fee per truck (Art. II, §1); the Town's fee schedule lists $100 per truck, and a violation can cost $50 a day (Art. III). Applications go through the Town's online permit system. We found no exclusive roll-off franchise. We're licensed and insured.

In the street: we found no Town permit for a dumpster in a street in the Peace and Good Order chapter (Ch. 154), which doesn't mention dumpsters; we did not read the rest of the code. Ask the Town before using a street.

On your driveway: a driveway or job site is the simple spot. Give us clear placement instructions and you don't need to be home for the drop-off; plywood boards under the wheels give a driveway extra protection.

State highways: nothing may be placed on a MassDOT state highway without MassDOT's written permit (M.G.L. c.81 §21), and MassDOT has no dumpster or container permit type — so on a state highway the container goes on private property. Not every stretch of a numbered route is state-owned, so we check the exact address.

Knocking something down: Massachusetts requires an asbestos survey by an asbestos inspector before demolition or renovation work (310 CMR 7.15(4)), and asbestos removal needs a MassDEP notice filed ten working days before work starts by the licensed abatement contractor. MassDEP's construction/demolition notice (AQ 06) does not apply to residential buildings with fewer than 20 units. Asbestos never goes in our containers — tell us if the survey finds any.

How it works

Booking a dumpster in Mansfield

Booking a container here takes one phone call and about five minutes.

  1. Step 1: Call and tell us the job

One short conversation. We ask the location, what you are clearing — a cleanout, a renovation, a roof, a yard, a job site — roughly how much there is, and how much room the driveway or lot gives us.

  2. Step 2: We size it and quote it flat

You get a flat-rate quote whenever possible that covers delivery, pickup, disposal, the standard rental period and an included weight allowance. If a smaller box does the job we will say so. If it is concrete, shingles or dirt, we say up front that weight decides the size.

  3. Step 3: Delivered where you want it

The driver sets the container on the driveway, lot or job site where you asked, on a flat, stable surface rather than the lawn. Often same-day or next-day, when availability allows. You do not need to be home.

  4. Step 4: Load it on your schedule

Keep it level with the top edge or below and keep the banned items out — paint and solvents, oils and fuel, chemicals, batteries, tires, propane tanks and gas cylinders, medical waste, asbestos, mattresses and textiles, and fridges or other large appliances. Need more time or a swap mid-job? One call.

  5. Step 5: We haul it and dispose of it right

The load is covered and goes to an approved facility, with metal, concrete, asphalt, clean wood and yard waste recycled through Massachusetts facilities whenever possible. You get your driveway back the way you left it.

Local answers

Dumpster rental in Mansfield — common questions

Is Mansfield same-day?

Same-day or next-day when availability allows — it is about 16 minutes from the yard. Call (508) 952-9763 early in the day for the best chance.

Will the Town take my renovation debris?

No. Town curbside collects no construction materials from renovation projects, and the Mansfield Green Recycling Park prohibits construction and demolition debris, lumber and furniture.

Do I need a permit for a dumpster in Mansfield?

We found no Town permit for a roll-off on your own driveway, and no street dumpster permit in the code chapter we read (Ch. 154). The Board of Health permit rule is aimed at the company supplying the container. Ask the Town before using a street.

Was Mansfield part of Norton?

Yes. Mansfield's town history says it became a separate district in 1770, when Norton had to give it part of the school money already assessed, and it was incorporated as a town five years later.
