Commercial Dumpster Rental across Bristol County and the Attleboro area
Commercial customers have a different problem from homeowners: the job runs on a schedule, with crews, tenants or customers working around it, and the container has to be there and gone when planned. Office cleanouts, retail renovations and seasonal cleanups, restaurant remodels, warehouse cleanups, property managers turning over units, commercial construction — the work is routine for us, and the scheduling is the service.
One thing to know up front: in Massachusetts the Board of Health in each town decides who may haul. State law says no one may remove or transport garbage or other offensive substances through a town's streets without a permit from that town's Board of Health, renewed every calendar year (M.G.L. c.111 §31A). Norton's version licenses each vehicle that carries refuse over the Town's public ways, renewed every year and expiring December 31, and the application asks for at least $1 million of liability insurance, workers' compensation and vehicle insurance, a written pledge to follow the MassDEP waste bans, and quarterly tonnage reports (Board of Health Reg. Ch. 11). We found no exclusive roll-off franchise in Norton or anywhere else we serve. Each town page states its own rule.

Offices, retail, restaurants and property turnovers
A store renovation or inventory clear-out, an office cleanout, a restaurant kitchen remodel or dining-room renovation, a warehouse clearing pallets and packaging, a property manager with apartment cleanouts, tenant turnovers or a foreclosure cleanup, a community or public works cleanup — these jobs make bulky debris in volume, and the 20, 30 and 40 yard containers exist for exactly that. Many contractors and property managers in Norton choose a 20 or a 30 for standard commercial renovation and construction work. We work with approved Massachusetts disposal and recycling facilities to reduce landfill waste whenever possible.
Two state rules matter more to a business than to a homeowner. Recyclable paper and cardboard and glass, metal and plastic containers are banned from disposal (310 CMR 19.017), so flattened cardboard from a store or a warehouse belongs in recycling, not the roll-off. And businesses and institutions that throw out more than half a ton of food and other organic material a week are barred from disposing of it — a restaurant remodel container is for the building debris, not the kitchen waste. Each town's hauler rule is on its own page; we are licensed & insured.
Placement on commercial property
On a private lot, in a loading area or on a job site we place where the truck can reach and the crews can load, clear of fire lanes and sightlines. In Norton every dumpster has to carry the company's name, phone number and a unique ID number, be kept secured and nuisance-free, and leave no refuse on the ground (Board of Health Reg. Ch. 11 §11.4). Neighboring towns add their own placement rules: Sharon wants dumpsters on concrete, asphalt or another impervious surface (Board of Health Art. 3); Foxborough keeps construction dumpsters at least 10 feet from a habitable structure and out of motorists' sightlines; Plainville bars any roll-off within 5 feet of the edge of a public way or a property line except on pickup days. A container in a public way needs the town's permission first — in Norton, the Select Board's written permission (Bylaw §135-7) — and on a state highway such as Route 123, Route 140 or Route 1 we found no MassDOT permit path at all. Hours vary too: Sharon allows collection outside business zones only from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., Plainville from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Seekonk dumpster emptying from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. in residential areas. We build that into the delivery plan.

Commercial dumpster rental — the local specifics
Every town here runs its own Board of Health permit under the same state law, and several regulate the dumpster itself. Norton licenses each hauling vehicle and requires every dumpster in town to be labelled with the company's name, phone number and an ID number (Reg. Ch. 11). Taunton's 2019 Dumpster Regulations require a Waste Haulers Permit to supply a dumpster service and say they apply to all dumpsters in the city, whether residential, commercial or industrial. Sharon requires a dumpster licence that names roll-offs, a construction and demolition dumpster permit for companies that supply only that kind of container, and a hauler permit that covers construction debris. Foxborough says its hauler licence includes companies that provide a dumpster to residential customers for cleanouts. Easton requires a permit to operate a dumpster service plus a permit for each dumpster. North Attleborough's waste hauling rules require a Board of Health permit to supply a container in town. Plainville has a hauler permit category for temporary roll-off containers only. Mansfield's Board of Health requires a hauler's permit for commercial trash container service. Town trash programs leave construction debris out: Attleboro's excludes rubbish from fire, construction or repair of buildings (Ord. §7-7.2), and Taunton's, Mansfield's and North Attleborough's curbside programs exclude construction materials too. We tell you where your job stands before the truck leaves the yard.
Answers
Commercial Dumpster Rental — your questions answered
Do you offer ongoing service for my business?
Yes — daily, weekly and long-term rentals, recurring pickups, swap-outs and job-site rotations for contractors, property managers and businesses. Ask about recurring dumpster rental programs for commercial properties.
Can you deliver outside business hours?
We take calls 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and on a commercial site we work to your access window, but we do not promise night or Sunday drop-offs. Some towns set hours: Sharon allows collection outside business zones only from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., Plainville from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., Seekonk dumpster emptying from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. in residential areas, and North Attleborough's rules limit collection to 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Can you handle multiple sites?
Yes. Several containers at once, staggered deliveries and scheduled swap-outs across job sites are routine for contractors and property managers.
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes — licensed and insured, with professional, insured drivers. Ask when you book if your property manager or general contractor needs proof of insurance.
Do the rules differ by town?
Yes. Every town runs its own Board of Health hauler permit under state law (M.G.L. c.111 §31A), and Taunton, Easton, Sharon, Foxborough, North Attleborough, Plainville and Seekonk add rules for the dumpster itself. Street placement differs even more — from Norton's Select Board permission to Attleboro's street occupancy charge and Middleborough's 14 days' notice. We found no exclusive roll-off franchise anywhere we serve. Each town page says what that town asks for.
