Junk Removal across Bristol County and the Attleboro area
Junk removal is the other half of what we do. Instead of dropping a container and coming back in a week, a crew shows up, loads what you point at, and hauls it off. It suits the jobs where the problem is labor rather than volume: furniture, an appliance, a garage of heavy items, an estate cleanout, a rental the tenant left full, an office of desks and shelving, storm debris, leftover renovation junk. You point to the junk, and our team handles the rest.
It matters here because the town options only go so far. Norton's Highway Department takes listed items on the 2nd and 4th Saturday of the month, each with a fee, and offers a Monday curbside pickup of those large items for an extra charge — fine for a fridge or a couch, not for a houseful. The rule of thumb on the phone: if it is a few items or a couple of pickup loads and you want it gone soon, call the crew. If it is a whole house or a job that will take you more than a day to sort, a self-load dumpster on the driveway is usually the better deal. We run both.
At a glance
What you get with junk removal
- A crew that does the loading, hauling and disposal
- Upfront pricing based on debris volume, material type, labor and disposal needs
- Furniture, appliances with the Freon properly removed, household junk, renovation debris, office furniture and shelving
- Same-day or next-day service may be available, depending on scheduling
- Usable furniture and household items donated, and metal, cardboard, wood and yard waste recycled whenever possible
- A self-load roll-off on the driveway instead if you would rather load it yourself
Cleanouts, turnovers and the one-off pile
Estate and rental property cleanouts are the biggest category: the furniture nobody wants, the appliances, the garage, attic and basement full of boxes. Property management jobs are next — tenant move-outs, apartment turnovers and foreclosure cleanups. Then the one-off pile: the couch, leftover renovation debris, fallen branches and damaged materials after a storm.
Two kinds of item need a word before we come. Mattresses and box springs, and textiles such as clothing, bedding and curtains, have been banned from disposal in Massachusetts since 1 November 2022, so they cannot simply go in with the rest — tell us how many when you book and we will confirm where they go and any cost before the crew arrives. Norton residents can also take mattresses and box springs to the Highway Department recycling Saturdays for a fee, and clothing at no charge. Picture-tube TVs and monitors are on the ban list too, and some electronic waste we cannot take; the Highway Department takes laptops, printers, monitors and TVs for a fee (508-285-0239).
Junk removal or a dumpster — which is better?
A rough rule: if the job is a few items or a couple of pickup loads and you want it gone quickly, call the crew — full-service junk removal is priced on volume, labor and material type. If it is a remodel, a yard, a job site or a multi-day cleanout, a roll-off on the driveway is usually better value because you load it at your own pace and it is priced flat on size and rental duration. Large or ongoing jobs — estate cleanouts, construction sites, recurring cleanups — get custom pricing. We will say which on the phone; we do both.

Junk removal — the local specifics
Most towns' own programs stop short of a real cleanout. Norton runs per-item recycling Saturdays and a Monday large-item curbside pickup for an extra charge. Attleboro and North Attleborough book bulky items through their contracted haulers, per item. Wrentham collects bulky items by appointment only, up to once a month. Seekonk's Bulky Waste Pass Day is, in the town's own words, NOT intended to be an alternative to getting a dumpster. Norfolk's DPW no longer rents containers. Household hazardous waste is patchier still: Norton's Saturday collection takes a limited list — mercury items, oil, antifreeze, batteries — rather than running a full hazardous waste day, Foxborough and Sharon hold collections for residents twice a year, and Wrentham and Plainville have suspended theirs. The state bans — mattresses, textiles, large appliances, picture-tube screens — apply to every load we haul. Junk removal is for the pile that cannot wait for any of that. Usable furniture and household items go to donation when appropriate, and metal, cardboard, wood and yard waste to recycling, whenever possible.
Answers
Junk Removal — your questions answered
How is junk removal priced?
Full-service junk removal is priced on the debris volume, the labor involved, the material type and the disposal needs. You get a clear quote upfront, so you understand all costs before scheduling. Describe the pile, or email a photo, and we will give you a number.
Do I need to be there?
For the first visit, usually — someone needs to point at what goes and what stays. After that, a gate code and a phone number usually do it.
Can you take appliances?
Yes — appliances with the Freon properly removed. Large appliances are white goods, which Massachusetts bans from disposal, so they go for recycling rather than the trash. Tell us what the appliance is when you book and we tell you any cost up front.
Can you take a mattress?
Tell us first. Mattresses and box springs have been banned from disposal in Massachusetts since 1 November 2022, and MassDEP says even one mattress fails a load, so they travel separately from the rest. We will confirm where they go and any cost when you book. Norton residents can also take them to the Highway Department recycling Saturdays for a fee.
How fast can a crew come?
Same-day or next-day appointments may be available around Norton, depending on scheduling. Call early in the day for the best chance of today.
