Where we deliver around Norton

We run roll-off containers out of 50 Pleasant St — in the Town of Norton, Bristol County, a short way off Route 123 and close to the Attleboro line — to every town below. Distance is the first thing that changes. Approximate road miles from the yard: Attleboro about 2, central Norton about 3, North Attleborough about 6, Plainville about 8, Mansfield, Easton and Taunton about 9, Raynham and Wrentham about 11, Rehoboth and Foxborough about 12, Berkley and Seekonk about 14, Dighton about 15, Norfolk about 16, Sharon about 17 and Middleborough about 21. Same-day or next-day is available when availability allows, and route timing decides the rest.

The second thing that changes is the rules. In Massachusetts every town's Board of Health permits the companies that haul waste through its streets, renewed each calendar year (M.G.L. c.111 §31A), and several regulate the dumpster itself. In Norton, a street placement needs the Select Board's written permission (Bylaw §135-7), and every dumpster has to carry the company's name, phone number and an ID number (Board of Health Reg. Ch. 11 §11.4). Taunton's 2019 Dumpster Regulations require dumpsters in residential areas to be fenced, lids closed and locations approved by the Board, so we check the Taunton Board of Health rules before booking a container there. Easton asks the customer for a Board of Health permit for each temporary dumpster, for 30 days with one renewal, and we check Easton's rules before booking too. North Attleborough requires a permit to supply a container and limits open construction containers to 30 days without a variance; Sharon licenses every dumpster, roll-offs included; Seekonk issues a $25 temporary dumpster permit; Attleboro's Fire Department issues dumpster permits and the city charges for occupying a street or sidewalk; Foxborough's hauler licence covers dumpsters for residential cleanouts and keeps construction dumpsters 10 feet from homes; Plainville has a temporary roll-off category and keeps containers 5 feet back from the road edge; Middleborough wants 14 days' notice before a street is used for building materials; Dighton wants the Selectmen's written permit for anything left in a street; and Rehoboth's Board of Health has a dumpster policy of its own. We found no exclusive roll-off franchise anywhere in that list. We are licensed & insured. Each town page quotes the section and gives the office to call. We would rather say it here than find out on delivery day.

The service area

Every town we cover, grouped by area

The run splits three ways: Norton and the Attleboro area, with Attleboro, North Attleborough, Mansfield, Rehoboth and Seekonk; Taunton and the eastern towns, with Raynham, Easton, Berkley, Dighton and Middleborough; and Foxborough and Norfolk County, with Plainville, Wrentham, Norfolk and Sharon.

Norton & the Attleboro area

Norton itself, where the yard is, plus Attleboro next door, North Attleborough, Mansfield, Rehoboth and Seekonk — roughly 2 to 14 road miles out (approx.). Norton's Board of Health licenses each hauling vehicle and its bylaw needs Select Board permission for rubbish in a street, Attleboro lists a Fire Department dumpster permit and a street occupancy charge, North Attleborough limits open construction containers to 30 days, Rehoboth keeps a Board of Health Dumpster Policy, and Seekonk issues a $25 temporary dumpster permit. Same-day or next-day when availability allows; call early in the day for the best chance of same-day.

Taunton & the eastern towns

Taunton, Raynham, Easton, Berkley, Dighton and Middleborough — roughly 9 to 21 road miles east of the yard (approx.). Taunton's Board of Health dumpster rules cover residential dumpsters and Easton's Board permits each dumpster, so we check those Boards' rules before booking there. Dighton needs the Selectmen's written permit for anything in a street, and Middleborough, in Plymouth County, needs a Select Board permit with 14 days' notice. Same-day or next-day for driveway drops when availability allows.

Foxborough & Norfolk County

Foxborough, Plainville, Wrentham, Norfolk and Sharon — roughly 8 to 17 road miles north of the yard (approx.), all in Norfolk County. Foxborough and Sharon license dumpster haulers by name, Plainville has a temporary roll-off category and a 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. collection window, Sharon limits collection near homes to the same hours, and Norfolk's DPW no longer rents containers. Same-day or next-day when availability allows; call early in the day for the best chance of same-day.

Answers

Service area questions

Which towns are same-day?

Many of them, depending on where the trucks are and when you call — early in the day gives you the best chance. The closest runs from the yard are Attleboro, about 2 road miles, central Norton, about 3, and North Attleborough, about 6; the furthest are Norfolk, about 16, Sharon, about 17, and Middleborough, about 21.

Do you serve places without their own page?

Yes, call — the villages and neighborhoods between our towns are inside our run; they just do not have their own pages. Tell us the address and we will tell you which town's rules apply. The permit follows the town the property is in, not the mailing address.

Why do town pages mention Board of Health permits?

Because every town in Massachusetts permits the companies that haul waste through its streets (M.G.L. c.111 §31A), and Taunton, Easton, Sharon, Foxborough, North Attleborough, Plainville, Seekonk and Norton add rules for the dumpster itself. We found no exclusive roll-off franchise anywhere we serve. We state what each town says.

Is the price different by town?

The flat rate depends partly on the delivery location, so the furthest towns can cost a little more — we say so up front.

Where do the loads go?

To a facility approved for that kind of waste — state law bars disposal anywhere MassDEP has not approved (M.G.L. c.111 §150A). Mixed construction debris goes to a handling facility that separates out asphalt, brick, concrete, metal, wood and clean drywall, and recyclable material goes to Massachusetts recycling facilities whenever possible.
