Roll-off dumpster rental in Sharon
Approx. 17 road miles from the yard, around 24 minutes.
Sharon is approx. 17 road miles north-northeast of the yard, around 24 minutes — same-day or next-day when availability allows; call early in the day for the best chance of same-day. It is a town of 18,575 at the 2020 Census, in Norfolk County.
The Town calls 353-acre Lake Massapoag, in the center of town, its greatest natural recreation resource. Household trash goes curbside through a Town contract, and the bylaw that lets the Select Board engage a single contractor covers household solid waste only — its definition leaves out nonputrescible construction and demolition debris (§226-3, §226-4A). Remodels, roofs and clean-outs go out in roll-offs.

Local knowledge
Getting our bearings in Sharon
Knowing a city properly is the difference between covering it and showing up with the right box.
- Lake Massapoag — 353 acres in the center of town, the Town's greatest natural recreation resource.
- Memorial Park Beach — on Beach Street, off Pond Street.
- No Town landfill — the Town voted to close its landfill effective May 1, 1985.
- County roads — Sharon lists roads that are county layouts, among them Bay Rd, Depot St, East St, Massapoag Ave, North Main St and South Main St; ask the DPW before a box goes on one.
- Household hazardous waste — two free collections a year, spring and fall, for Sharon residents.
What comes out of Sharon properties
Roofs in 10s and 20s, landscaping and yard work in 15s and 20s, remodels in 20s, estate clean-outs in 30s, new construction and demolition in 30s and 40s, and a 10 or 15 for concrete, brick and dirt — heavy loads are limited to the smaller boxes. Sharon requires every new construction site to have a dumpster big enough for all its construction debris (§300-3.3(1)). MassDEP bans asphalt pavement, brick and concrete, metal, wood (from landfills), clean drywall, mattresses and textiles (since 1 November 2022), whole tires, large appliances, TV and monitor picture tubes and lead-acid batteries from disposal (310 CMR 19.017), so mixed construction loads go to a C&D handling facility that sorts them. MassDEP says even one mattress can fail a load — tell us before you load a mattress or an appliance.

Sizes
Choosing a container size in Sharon
Weight is what usually decides the size, not how much room the pile takes up.

|---|---|---|---|---|
| 10 Yard Dumpster | about 14 ft long × 7.5 ft wide × 3.5 ft high | about 3 pickup truck loads | 1–2 tons | Small kitchen and bathroom remodels, roofing tear-offs, garage and attic cleanouts, and concrete, brick, tile, asphalt and dirt within the weight limit. |
| 15 Yard Dumpster | about 16 ft long × 7.5 ft wide × 4.5 ft high | about 4–5 pickup truck loads | 2–3 tons | Basement, garage and multi-room cleanouts, kitchen and bathroom remodels, flooring and carpet removal, roofing projects, yard cleanup, and fence and deck removal. |
| 20 Yard Dumpster | about 22 ft long × 7.5 ft wide × 4.5 ft high | about 6 pickup truck loads | 3–4 tons | Whole-home cleanouts, kitchen and bathroom renovations, roofing projects, landscaping overhauls and light demolition with mixed construction debris. |
| 30 Yard Dumpster | about 22 ft long × 7.5 ft wide × 6 ft high | about 9 pickup truck loads | 4–5 tons | Whole-house remodeling, estate and move-out cleanouts, commercial renovations, light demolition and large property or community cleanups. |

Permits, placement and who may haul in Sharon
Who may haul — the rule that matters: the Board of Health requires a Dumpster License from anyone providing dumpster service in Sharon — roll-offs and temporary dumpsters used for clean-outs, remodeling, construction or events included — and a Solid Waste/Recyclable Hauler Permit for vehicles carrying solid waste, recyclables or construction debris, both on a calendar year. The Board's 2024 fee schedule lists $50 for dumpsters and $200 for haulers, and a company supplying dumpsters only for construction, demolition and remodeling waste needs a C&D dumpster permit (Art. 3, §300-3.5(2)). Waste may only go to landfills outside Sharon (§300-3.6). The single-contractor bylaw doesn't reach construction debris. We're licensed and insured.
Placement and hours: every dumpster carries the company's name, address and phone, and construction and demolition dumpsters are exempt from the secured-lid rule (§300-3.10A). Dumpsters go on concrete, asphalt or another impervious surface, with some location items waived for C&D dumpsters (§300-3.11B). Outside business, commercial and industrial zones, nothing may be collected before 7 a.m. or after 7 p.m. (§300-3.13), and the owner and the dumpster company are both responsible, at $50 a day (§300-3.16). We book drop-offs and pickups near homes inside those hours.
In the street: we found no Town container permit. Bylaw §235-1 bars leaving material or an obstruction on a sidewalk, street or public place overnight without sufficient light and guards, or after notice from a police officer, a constable or the Select Board. A driveway is the simple spot.
Knocking something down: Massachusetts requires an asbestos survey by an asbestos inspector before demolition or renovation work (310 CMR 7.15(4)), and asbestos removal needs a MassDEP notice filed ten working days before work starts by the licensed abatement contractor. MassDEP's construction/demolition notice (AQ 06) does not apply to residential buildings with fewer than 20 units. Asbestos never goes in our containers — tell us if the survey finds any.

How it works
Booking a dumpster in Sharon
Booking a container here takes one phone call and about five minutes.
Step 1: Call and tell us the job
One short conversation. We ask the location, what you are clearing — a cleanout, a renovation, a roof, a yard, a job site — roughly how much there is, and how much room the driveway or lot gives us.
Step 2: We size it and quote it flat
You get a flat-rate quote whenever possible that covers delivery, pickup, disposal, the standard rental period and an included weight allowance. If a smaller box does the job we will say so. If it is concrete, shingles or dirt, we say up front that weight decides the size.
Step 3: Delivered where you want it
The driver sets the container on the driveway, lot or job site where you asked, on a flat, stable surface rather than the lawn. Often same-day or next-day, when availability allows. You do not need to be home.
Step 4: Load it on your schedule
Keep it level with the top edge or below and keep the banned items out — paint and solvents, oils and fuel, chemicals, batteries, tires, propane tanks and gas cylinders, medical waste, asbestos, mattresses and textiles, and fridges or other large appliances. Need more time or a swap mid-job? One call.
Step 5: We haul it and dispose of it right
The load is covered and goes to an approved facility, with metal, concrete, asphalt, clean wood and yard waste recycled through Massachusetts facilities whenever possible. You get your driveway back the way you left it.

Local answers
Dumpster rental in Sharon — common questions
Is Sharon same-day?
Same-day or next-day when availability allows — it is about 24 minutes from the yard. Call (508) 952-9763 early in the day for the best chance.
Does a roll-off need a licence in Sharon?
Yes. The Board of Health requires a Dumpster License from any business providing dumpster service in Sharon, roll-offs and temporary clean-out dumpsters included, plus a hauler permit for the trucks.
What hours can you deliver in Sharon?
Outside business, commercial and industrial zones, collection may not happen before 7 a.m. or after 7 p.m. (Board of Health Art. 3, Sec. 300-3.13). We book drop-offs and pickups near homes in that window.
Does Sharon's single-contractor trash bylaw cover roll-offs?
No. It covers household solid waste, and its definition leaves out nonputrescible construction and demolition debris (Bylaw Sec. 226-3).
